The hospice benefit is intended primarily for any individual with a terminal illness whose life expectancy is six months or less should the illness run its usual course. However, the Medicare and Medicaid programs recognizes that not all terminal illnesses have a predictable course; therefore, the benefit is available for extended periods of time beyond six months.
Anyone may request hospice & comfort care. If you feel that you, a family member or friend is in need of hospice care, please contact us for a comfort care evaluation by a registered nurse.
Referrals can come from your personal physician or other healthcare professionals, a family member, friends, members of clergy, or from patients themselves.
